Training of Trainers: HIV & STD Updates For Youth Workers

This workshop is designed to provide updated information on HIV/AIDS and STDs to staff that provide educational sessions to youth on these topic areas. A variety of activities to communicate this information to youth will also be discussed during this workshop.
Participants will receive:
- A trainer manual (including a PowerPoint presentation)
- A trainee manual so that they can implement training programs within their agencies
- Additional resources
Target Audience: Supervisors, HR Staff and anyone else responsible for training others.
Note: Lunch will be provided

About the Facilitators
Wendy Ramsay, MST is the Health Education Specialist at REACH CNY. Wendy has taken an interest in gender and sexuality issues since grade school. She has formally worked with sexuality and gender issues since 1996 when she started as an AmeriCorps member at the Center for Youth Services in Rochester and worked closely with the Gay Alliance. Since she moved to CNY, she has facilitated a variety of workshops related to sexuality and gender issues through her work at Girls Incorporated and REACH CNY.

Jeanette O’Connor-Shanley is the Training Program Director at REACH CNY, Inc. Jeanette has over 15 years of experience in providing training to health and human service providers throughout New York State on HIV/AIDS & STDs, youth development, cultural competence and other health-related topics.
