The Syracuse Area HIV/AIDS Technical Assistance Program seeks to build a local training capacity in motivational interviewing (MI). This program will offer basic and advanced MI trainings with group and individual-level supervision. Trainings and mentoring will be conducted by Kathleen Sciacca, a MI trainer with more than 30 years of clinical experience. Interested providers and practitioners should attend an information session to learn more or see the program description.This program is in partnership with the Onondaga County Department of Mental Health.

MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING provides effective strategies and skills for working with many forms of behavior change including: mental health, chemical dependency, HIV, criminal justice, homeless services, domestic violence, employee assistance programs, voca-tional rehabilitation, and primary health care. It is effective for both adult and adolescent popu-lations.
This course is being offered as part of a program that seeks to build a local training capacity in motivational interviewing. Participation in this program and its offerings is limited. Training Programs - Fees
Participation Fees
Core Group- $250.00 (includes basic- and advance-level training with group and individual supervision)
Supervisor Group- $150.00 (includes basic- and advance-level training with group supervision)
Open Group- $100.00 (includes basic-level training with group supervision)
(*Fees include lunch and snacks, and all training materials)
How to submit payment
Training participants may pay by credit card or check using PayPal if they have been accepted into the CNYHSA Motivational Interviewing Training Program. Checks may also be mailed or hand-delivered. Full payment is due by December 8, 2008. To pay online, please email cmurray@cnyhsa.com for further instructions.
